Our latest patient Ana has had more experience than most with heart treatment in Australia. Four years ago Ana came to Australia for a procedure to repair her faulty heart valve. We’ve stayed in touch and monitored her progress, and now it’s time for another operation, this time open heart surgery.
Ana had her final check-up this week with our honorary medical adviser, Dr Noel Bayley, and arrives in Melbourne tomorrow. She will have her aortic valve replacement surgery next week.
When she’s well, Ana’s looking forward to continuing her university studies. “I would like to give the donors and the doctors a big thank you for making my second operation become possible,” Ana told us.
