A big thanks to the special friends who gathered last night for our supporter and volunteer thank you event.
Guests had a rundown on another exciting year, with volunteer cardiologist Dr Liz Paratz giving an update on our research program; our CEO David Marlow speaking on 2019’s achievements; and co-founder and board chair Ingrid Svendsen adding some reflections and board highlights. We also sadly farewelled two retiring volunteer board directors, Bill Appleby and Nicki Patten, who received something to remember us by – personalised tais salenda (traditional Timorese woven neck scarves), made by master craftswomen in Oecusse province in Timor-Leste.
