In 2012 we brought three ladies from Baucau, east of Dili, to Australia for heart procedures. Sebastiana, Natalina and Cristina all had successful mitral balloon procedures.
We’ve stayed in touch with the ladies over the years, to ensure their hearts remain healthy. Three years ago, we brought Natalina to Australia for another heart valve procedure; and now it’s Sebastiana’s turn.
Later today Sebastiana is due to arrive in Melbourne, where she will have a mitral balloon procedure to widen her damaged heart valve.
When she is better, Sebastiana is looking forward to having more energy to play with her children and work at home.
“I’m really appreciative. Thank you so much to the donors and specially all the doctors who have made this surgery is possible,” Sebastiana told us.
